Moselund Økologi – a large-scale organic dairy operation

Moselund is located between Herning and Holstebro in Central Jutland and has been operated by Torben Brødbæk since 2005. The farm is run as a fully organic operation and includes a diverse and large-scale production setup.

Cows are milked three times daily, with each milking taking around 3 to 3.5 hours. Across the three milkings, the farm produces approximately 28,000 litres of milk per day.

From April to November, grazing plays a central role in daily management. This places high demands on the milking system, as cows must move efficiently between pasture and parlour without delays.

Despite its age, the milking parlour continues to perform reliably and efficiently.

“It works really well. Of course, there have been minor issues over the years, but nothing serious. We still achieve very fast milking — around 280 cows per hour.”
